How SMS Nonwoven Spunmelt Machine works

SMS nonwoven spun melt machine is a type of equipment used for producing nonwoven fabrics using a combination of spun bond and melt-blown technologies. Here's how it works:

Spunbond layer formation: The process begins with the extrusion of thermoplastic polymers, such as polypropylene or polyester, from the spinnerets located at the top of the machine. The spinnerets create a continuous filament that is then laid down on a moving conveyor belt in a web-like fashion to form a spunbond layer.

Meltblown layer formation: The meltblown layer is created by melting the thermoplastic polymer and then blowing it through small nozzles onto the spunbond layer. This creates a fine, random fiber network that is then bonded to the spunbond layer.

Composite layer formation: The final step is the bonding of the spun bond and melt-blown layers together to create the SMS nonwoven fabric. This is achieved by passing the fabric through a set of rollers that apply heat and pressure to fuse the layers together.

The resulting SMS nonwoven fabric has unique properties such as good tensile strength, barrier properties, and softness, making it useful in a wide range of applications such as medical, hygiene, and industrial products.
